How we think about design

Good design increases investor ROI, but doesn't necessarily have to increase the costs of a project.

How we think about design

When designing residential units, you need to resolve the following tension: You need the units to be cool enough to attract premium paying customers today, while also ensuring the design is timeless and can attract customers for decades to come.

This challenge exists because Architecture and Design is an art form, and as such evolves over time. Changes in demographics, societal trends, technology, construction methods and materials all influence modern standards of architecture and design.

When examining home living needs today, the following characteristics are expected in a modernly designed home:

    • Clean geometry: Clean lines and geometric shapes
    • Natural light: Maximize ability for natural light to enter home
    • Open floors: No walls between common rooms
    • Natural materials: Environmentally friendly native materials
    • Neutral colors: simple and natural tones

We spend a lot of time thinking about this challenge because good design doesn't have to increase project costs, but does directly increase investors ROI.
